Private adult ADHD assessments, delivered remotely.

A structured clinical interview against DSM-5 criteria, using DIVA-style prompts. We look at your childhood (pregnancy and birth, early milestones, school experience and reports, family history) and your life now (medical, mental health and social history). We consider other explanations for your difficulties and record anything that co-occurs, and there's a short mental state examination on the day. You then get the outcome, a plain-language explanation, a management plan, a written report and, if you consent, a letter to your GP.

£995, fixed, with no VAT. It's paid when you book your triage call, and it covers the triage call, the assessment, feedback, the written report and a GP letter if you want one.

No. headwell provides assessments only. We don't treat, prescribe, start or adjust medication. If you're diagnosed and want to explore medication, your report and GP letter can support a conversation with your GP or a service that offers treatment.

With your consent, we send a letter to your GP. Whether a GP accepts a private diagnosis, or agrees to prescribe under a shared-care arrangement, is up to them. It varies between practices and isn't guaranteed. If that matters to you, it's worth asking your GP practice about its policy before you book.

The criteria for ADHD are met, they are not met, or the picture is partial and further review is needed. We'll explain whichever it is and what it means for you. No outcome is guaranteed.

An informant is someone who can describe how you are now, such as a partner, friend or family member, and ideally someone who knew you as a child, such as a parent or older sibling. Old school reports help too. You don't have to have one, but it makes the assessment more thorough. We'll talk about it at triage.

You have 14 days from booking to cancel. If you ask for your appointments to take place within those 14 days and then cancel, you may have to pay for any part of the service already provided. The fee is for the assessment itself, so it isn't refunded because of the outcome. No. The ASRS-v1.1 Screener is a published screening questionnaire. We show you its result exactly as it is scored, but it isn't a diagnosis or our clinical opinion. A diagnosis can only come from a full clinical assessment.

Nothing is stored until you give your consent and enter your contact details. After that, your answers are seen only by the headwell team and are held for us by the service providers named in our privacy policy. We never sell your data, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
